My favourite thing about September turning from summer to fall is that it’s a change of pace into something entirely different from our summer days. The summer is coming to a close here and I can feel the cooler days coming. We live in a clearly four season area and in many ways, I love that. The fall brings about a slowing down. Tidier floors. Cooler air in the woods. I love the coziness the fall brings and yet we can still make our way outside without freezing like a popsicle. Today on the blog, I’m sharing about how to live minimally with the seasons.

Learning to lean into the natural rhythms of the earth.

Living minimally with the seasons for us means we attach new habits, routines, things that we do during each season. In the fall, we go through summer clothes and items and purge, donate anything not used or loved. We take out our cozier clothes and go through that as well. The change of season is a great time to do some maintenance decluttering. And a great time to reintroduce warm, cozy drinks of choice.

  • The seasons is a great time to declutter.
  • It’s a great time to get donations out of the house.
  • It’s a great time to reassess routines, habits, and introduce or tweak them.
  • But most of all? It’s a great time to try a new hot drink.

My favourite weekend hot drink of choice?

But first, your supply list (aka the hot drinks I always have on hand):

Our french press we’re obssessed with

Organic peppermint tea

My fave bulk Earl grey tea

Strawberry tea

Chamomile tea

Matcha tea

PS I found three other weekend worthy yummy drink recipes I want to try this fall. If you’re a lover of hot drinks too, send me an email at and I’d be happy to send you that list too! One of them is a fave hot chocolate of mine.

The four ways to live minimally with the seasons and a picture of fall trees.

Hi, I’m Kelly! I’m a mother of four children - three boys, one toddler girl - and our family lives on the beautiful east coast of Canada. I’m a past elementary teacher, turned stay at home, work at home mom eight years ago after I had my second child. I’ve found that the busier I’ve become and as my children age, that it’s become even more important to figure out what is most important to me and us as a family. Living a simpler lifestyle has helped us in so many ways in our home life - from better routines to faster tidying up times. It has been through my children that I have been inspired to learn how to effectively manage my time and to simplify in all areas of my home and life. I enjoy helping busy moms simplify home life by teaching flexible planning methods and skills. Enjoyed this blog and think it would be helpful to others? I'd love if you shared it. Thank you!
